What is Blue Ridge Homes?
Blue Ridge Homes is an Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with a primary diagnosis of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IID). Blue Ridge Homes consists of nine group homes in Madison and Buncombe counties in addition to two vocational centers in Marshall, and Bakersville. We provide 24 hour care and treatment for 70 individuals. We also offer vocational training through contract work and supported employment for residential clients as well as members of the community.

What services do you provide?
Blue Ridge Homes provides a wide spectrum of services based upon the needs of each individual that we serve. Speech, Dietary, Behavior Management, Physical Therapy, Vocational training and Nursing care are some of the clinical supports which are available. All persons served also receive training in personal care and independent living skills. We believe that each individual has strengths and needs which are unique; therefore, each plan of care is different.

Can my loved one live at Blue Ridge Homes?
Residential openings occur on occasion. If the person you care for has a primary diagnosis of Mental Retardation and requires 24 hour care and support, please call the number listed below or e-mail us for additional information. How much does it cost for my loved one to live at Blue Ridge Homes?
As long as your loved one qualifies for Medicaid, the cost of care for each individual is generally covered without any expenses for the family.
